West Side Rowing Club is known for its growing and increasingly more competitive adult programs. With both competitive and learn to row programs, we work with all ages and skill levels to teach the sport of rowing. Please see below for current winter program offerings.

Our winter programs are a great way for athletes to improve both their physical fitness and rowing ability. Our facilities make West Side one of the most capable winter training facilities in the country. We have rowing machines that can hold up to 70 people at a time as well as a full indoor rowing simulator tank. To see more about our facilities, check out our explore page.

NEW AND EXPANDED PROGRAM OPTIONS FOR ADULT WINTER ERGING!
OPTION 1: (Beginner / Intermediate Class) Adult Winter Training Erg at The Frank Lloyd Wright Boathouse this Winter! Whether you have never picked up an oar, or rowed in high school or college, we welcome all masters (adults ages 18 and up) into the Winter Training Program. The winter training program will focus on strength, flexibility and erg technique to optionally prepare you for recreational summer rowing in 2025. Workouts and a coach will be provided. OPTION 3: NEW FOR 2025: Indoor Adult Coached TANK TRAINING sessions at the West Side Rowing Club. Training in an indoor rowing tank offers several key benefits:
Technique Development: Provides a controlled environment to focus on rowing technique without the distractions of water currents or wind.
Strength and Endurance: Helps build muscular strength and cardiovascular endurance through targeted workouts.
Consistent Conditions: Ensures uniform water temperature and flow, allowing for consistent training sessions.
Team Coordination: Facilitates practice for crews to develop synchronization and communication skills.
Injury Prevention: Focused training can help reduce the risk of injuries associated with improper technique or overtraining.

Option 4: NEW: Mid-Day Adult Open Erg / Tank Time (11:00 AM - 3:00 PM Monday - Friday) Take advantage of the boathouse facility during programmatic off hours Monday through Friday between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Usage of the erg room, tank room, and restroom facility is included.
