Summer Rowing Programs - 2010

West Side Rowing Club Competitive Juniors: A competitive program for boys and girls who did not turn 18 years old before December 31, 2009.  All Junior competitive crews will practice 6 times per week.  The top Junior boats will practice 8 times per week.  Practices will be held Monday through Friday from 5:30 - 8:00pm.  Saturday morning practice times as well as additional morning practice times for the top boats will be announced at a later date.

The Competitive Junior program will begin on June 21, 2010.  There will be an informational meeting for all interested Junior Men on June 21 at 5pm.  An informational meeting for all interested Junior Women will be held on June 21 at 6pm.  Both meetings will take place in the West Side Board Room.

Regattas: Junior athletes will compete in the following regattas:

June 26:  Empire State Game Trials, Buffalo NY

July 11:  West Side Invitational Regatta, Buffalo NY

July 12 - 18: USRowing Club Nationals, Oak Ridge TN

July 17 - 18:  St. Catharine's Invitational, St. Catharine's ONT

July 22 - 23:  Empire State Games, Buffalo NY

July 24 - 25:  Row Ontario Championships, Welland ONT

August 1 - 8: Royal Canadian Henley Regatta, St. Catharine's ONT

Junior Skills Rowing Program: A non-competitive program that focuses on teaching and enhancing basic rowing technique and boat moving skills.  All practices will run Monday through Thursday from 3-5pm.

There will be 3, 2-week sessions for the Junior Skills program.  You can register for one, two or all three of the sessions by clicking on the links below:

Session I:  June 21 - July 2

Session II:  July 6 - July 16

Session III:  July 19 - July 30

 

Masters Men Competitive Program: A competitive program for men ages 27 and over.  Masters athletes will practice up to 4 times per week throughout the summer season.

Adult Recreational Rowing Program: A non-competitive rowing program for men and women over the age 18.  Participants must have at least one season of rowing experience or must have participated in the Adult Learn to Row Program.
